Mahendra Deshar runs Sizzling Bombay with his wife Yashoda Gurung, and together they oversee all facets of the restaurant. Sizzling Bombay is a family-owned establishment that opened in 2007 with a staff of eight employees, most of whom still work in the business. It was the first restaurant in Harford County to offer authentic Indian cuisine and is known for dishes prepared in the traditional Tandoori style, along with classic items such as hummus, kabobs and fresh baked naan, its clay oven pita bread. The menu also features fusion recipes that combine Indian flavors with spices and ingredients from Chinese and Thai cooking. A kids’ menu, dessert selections and specialty cocktails are available as well.
